A multicultural experience

Lisbon is a cosmopolitan city. In this capital city people from all over the world meet.

Besides discovering the Portuguese culture and way of life, I learn more about the cultures of other countries.

At university, the courses gather people from different countries, and the professors use this as an asset. In class, we are regularly invited to share examples on the subjects we are discussing, in particular, politics, communication media or the culture of our countries. This allows us to broaden our vision of the world and to have a concrete overview of other countries.

Moreover, the Portuguese Catholic University encourages group work. So I am regularly brought to work with people of other nationalities, having different ways of working.

Secondly, outside the university, I meet people from all over the world, in bars, on the street, in parks... it is very easy to meet new people. Whether they are friends, roommates or acquaintances, they bring a lot to the table because of the cultural differences. Interacting with strangers opens you up and makes you more aware of the world around you.

This makes us somehow "get out of the little bubble" in which we evolve.
